Story
The Dancon March has been a tradition with the Danish Defence since 1972. The Dancon March allows participants to demonstrate their physical capabilities and encourage social bonds between partner forces deployed alongside the Danish counterpart. The march is recognised worldwide and has been completed in numerous countries throughout the world.
The Danish National Support Element will be hosting the Dancon March at Tapa Camp, Estonia on July 30th, 2022.
The march goes beyond just showcasing physical strength. It strengthens partnerships and allows the Danish National Support Element to support a good cause while encouraging team morale. All the participants have six hours to complete the 25-kilometres ruck march while carrying a total weight of at least 10 kilograms ( roughly 22 pounds ) to earn the DANCON March medal.
24 personnel from 10 QOGLR are currently deployed to “OP CABRIT“ in Estonia to provide logistic elements to the 2 Rifles deployed to showcase Enhance Forward Presence as part of the NATO deterrence deployment. Whilst deployed here, I want to grab this opportunity to take on the challenge alongside with my team; in remembrance of all our brave ancestors who fought at Britain’s side and to fundraise for Gurkha veterans and widows.
Team QOGLR will be undertaking this challenge in a team of 9 on July 30th, 2022 at Tapa Camp, Estonia.
