Story
Divine Grace Orphanage in Uganda
Long after the media attention has turned to other global issues, the work with the underprivileged children in Uganda continues......
A couple of years ago, fundraising efforts meant that 100 bed capacity dormitory for one hundred orphans being cared for by Divine Grace was built. They have managed their meagre resources carefully ensuring that they meet their primary aim of feeding, clothing and caring for the children. However, it has been at the expense of the following works which needs to be done urgently:
Painting, doors, windows, beds and mattresses: £3,500
We thank God that we haven’t had any security incidences, but it is of great concern that our children sleep on the cold floors and have no doors or windows to protect them not only from strangers, but also from the elements.
Electricity (incl. wiring, poles, electricians and generator etc): £4,000
Also, there is actually no wiring at all from the local town to the remote area where the orphanage is and so some wiring and connection is required,
Bore Hole: £4,000
Lastly, the children have no clean water in the domitory, so to get a bore hole will be the best option
Total Minimum needed to ensure the safety of the children is :£11,500
