!! 12 weeks to make a difference - -- challenge accepted !!

I have been fortunate enough to be selected to join a 3 months development program abroad with Y care international. In October,I will flying out to Bangladesh where I, alongside fellow volunteers, will be promoting women's rights, prevent violence, provide education to vulnerable children and young people. We will be helping communities prepare for recurrent natural disaster

Y Care International runs a selection of excellent programs supporting global youth work, enabling young people to get their foot on the ladder and having a promising future. Y care international is part of the government's International Citizen Service (ICS) scheme and gives the opportunity to send young people abroad to help with key aspects such as; Health, justice and youth work.

Before any ICS/Y care international volunteer departs for their trip they are asked to raise money for the charity that they are going with to raise awareness of the experience and the charity. My fundraising target is £800, which contributes to the ICS programme so that 7,000 young people from the UK and overseas can volunteer, like myself, on projects in the developing world and fight poverty.
