We care for nature, beauty, history to benefit the whole nation.

Story

Winchester City Mill was first recorded, milling corn, in the Domesday Book of 1086. Over the course of its long history it has faced many challenges including the threat of developers in the 1920s. Thankfully, an eleventh hour public subscription saved the Mill and it was subsequently entrusted to the National Trust.

Since then, it has welcomed visitors from around the world, and has become a respected eductional hub for schools and colleges.

However, the Mill is now facing it's biggest challenge of all. The Mill has reached a stage in it's life where it needs substantial structural works.

The National Trust needs your help to raise £125,000 towards vital restoration costs. Just £5.00 will help to keep the Mill open for our visitors and educational groups, and will ensure it remains milling flour for generations to come.
