Story
The pupils of Scarcroft Primary School have chosen to support Candlelighters in their work supporting families in their fight against children's cancer because Candlelighters have been there for families in our school and we want to help.
Pupils, parents, and grandparents have teamed up to design, build and race a soapbox cart in the Micklegate Soapbox Challenge in York and then we will raffle it off (in whatever condition it is after the challenge, having raced it round chicanes, over cobbles and jumps) to one person who has supported our campaign here to raise money for Candlelighters. You must be 16 years of age or over to participate in this raffle.
Lots of people have already helped including Your Bike Shed who have paid for our entry and have supplying bike parts and S8 Racing Sheffield who provided kart chassis and parts. Please help too by donating here for a chance to win the cart (or what remains of the cart after the challenge) so we can raise the most we can for Candlelighters to help them with the fantastic work they do.
The winner will be notified by email, so please include your contact email when making your donation, and the winner's name will be published here http://friendsofscarcroft.org.uk/soapbox-challenge/ after the raffle draw. Email addresses will not be used for any other reason other than to notify the winner and/or to thank you for your donation. The cart will be made available for collection after the raffle draw to the winner at Scarcroft Primary School, York or for local delivery by agreement with us.
If you want to sponsor us but don't want to enter/aren't eligible for the raffle please donate via our alternative page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Friends-of-Scarcroft-Primary-School where your donations would also attract gift aid if you are eligible for it.
