Story
I'm running several races this year, ending on a high with the Cardiff Half Marathon for #TeamStroke!
It's been 6 years since I ran consistently but I am doing this for a great reason and a wonderful cause. As most of you may know, my wonderful sister, at the age of 44, sufferred a life-changing stroke in February 2022. After emergency brain surgery at the Heath Hospital and a 7-month hospital stay she finally arrived home. However, she is left with life-altering side effects that she struggles to overcome on a daily basis. She is the strongest person I know and makes me so proud every single day.
For this reason, I want, more than ever, to raise money for the Stroke Association. The work they do is so vital for the huge number of people living with the after effects of a stroke.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.
Stroke Association believes everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. Your support will help them to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments. Help me raise as much as possible to help rebuild lives after stroke - thank you!
