Story
STOP PRESS Well, I did it: the roads were bumpy, it was up hill and against the wind all the way or so it seemed but the weather was kind and the natives friendly. I was tired and flopped out all afternoon but managed a pint or two later at the New Inn ...
The donations have been unbelievable, coming in thick and fast, yes from friends and family but so many through various links from people I've never even met. What lovely, generous-hearted people - my warmest thanks to you all.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. In support of it, I took part in the Woking Bikeathon, on the 15th May. Though it's done, the site is open for another three months so it's not too late to donate if you wish.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Let's get something positive out of this awful year. One wonderful thing has occurred: Mandy is now so much better and planning to return to work at her school as soon as she's allowed to, in a matter of days - she is champing at the bit.
Carole spent the last year of her life dedicated to helping Mandy get better, foregoing her last chance of a summer holiday and being there for Mandy, quite literally, staying in her room in hospital during the really tough times - what a mum! When Carole died, Mandy was clearly getting better but still very weak. If only Carole could see our beloved daughter now, full of her old energy and drive, she would truly rest in peace. God bless you darlings.
So please everybody, let's remember that it was help like yours that paid for the research that led to Mandy and thousands of others being well on the way to a complete cure. I cycled for my dear Mandy and for my beloved Carole. So please give generously. Thank you all so much.
Bill
