William Nutting and myself (affectionately known as Dumb and Dumber) are attempting to cross the United States on a couple of Harley Davidson Road Kings. We will leave San Francisco on 5th November and are due to arrive in Miami on the 20th November. We will endeavour to not fall off, crash or get arrested along the way. As both ex Irish Guards, we are raising money for a Charity close to both our hearts, Help for Heroes. They have already raised over £30,000,000 and have done an amazing job, but there is still more to do.

We both recently heard the news of a nephew of a close friend of ours that was very badly injured and it all brought the recent efforts of the military in Afghanistan and around the world into focus. We, unfortunately, hear almost daily of fatalities in Afghanistan, but not so much about those soldiers who are injured. As they say on the their website; "Long-term injuries need long-term solutions. Going forward, Help for Heroes aims to supplement the available facilities and care so that those in rehabilitation get the very best facilities and treatment in order to recover from their injuries and rebuild their careers."

Anything we raise would be a huge benefit for those who are paying a high price for our continued freedom. Thank you for helping.
