Evie’s Gift are an incredible charity that are often overlooked when it comes to children’s charities.

During Delilah’s stay at Bristol Children’s Hospital Claire and I were helped massively by both the Grand Appeal (raised money for them last year!) and Evie’s Gift.

I found a leaflet about them in the parents lounge while Delilah was in intensive care. I took it to her nurse to ask more about it and they didn’t know anything about this amazing charity! 

Within 1 hour of sending off the completed form they had emailed me to say they’d be paying £200 into my account later that day to cover travel to and fro from Cornwall and a bit towards food for myself. They pick up the little hidden costs that people often forget about when they have seriously ill children.

I got in touch with them again when Delilah was back in intensive care for her open heart surgery and within a few hours they sent me details of a hotel booking within walking distance of the hospital because all of the charity funded accommodation was full. This took away the stress of finding somewhere to sleep and gave me a comfortable bed for 3 nights while the hospital helped source a more long term accommodation.

Without Evie’s Gift, I’d have either been commuting from Cornwall each day or sleeping in my car just to be by my daughters bedside during her biggest fight to  date.
