Hey Guys, thanks so much for checking out my page of mental sporting altruism (and dissertation distraction!). 

Basically on 22nd July I'm doing an Olympic Traithlon (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run), and aiming to do it in about 3hrs lol! 

Debate Mate, the awesome charity I used to work for that teaches public speaking and political education in the UK and abroad, have also kindly signed also me up for a 10km on the 9th of July! They are raising money for their Nepal programme this summer which spends 3 weeks running debating competitions in many schools accross the country. So I have decided to help them out by choosing them as my charity for both races! 

Why give your money? Debating is an incredibly effective way for generating social change. Through educating people in the art of political discussion they are empowered to stand up for their rights and create positive change within their country. It's also just really fun for the kids who often have an education system where rote learning is the norm! 

So yeah basically they're a great charity doing great work. If that doesn't do it for you just think about me doing some mental feats of athleticism.
