Story

Thank you for visiting our sponsorship page.

4 couples - Hilary and Colin Carter, Kate and Roger Bedson, Becky and Gary Delderfield and Kate and Ian Weetman have entered 2 teams for the Race the Sun Lake District event on the 9th September 2023. We have set up a single fundraising page for the two teams.

The challenge involves cycling 40 miles on roads completing a circuit of Skiddaw and including 3,300ft of climbing, kayaking 2 miles on Derwent Water, and then hiking 11 miles to the top of Skiddaw and down again.

A number of us have raised money for Action Medical Research before. It is an excellent charity which funds amazing, life changing research.

Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For 65 years we’ve helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people. Our research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths. But we urgently need to develop more new treatments and cures for sick babies and children and we can’t do it without you.Join our fight for little lives.
