So that's it, 100 days and SEVEN MARATHONS!! 185.41 miles in 56.75 hours over the period.
At the present time we've raised £4,271.37 plus £999.70 Gift Aid making a staggering £5,271.07 in total 🙂
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me in any way, with donations or just being there (in many cases both!).
Especial thanks to those who have joined me in socially distanced trundles, so that's Helen, Amy, Dawn, Kathy, Nick, Mina and Nikki.
And huge thanks to Warwick and his musical buddies, without their soundtrack to go along with Helen's video I don't think we'd have raised anything like the amount we've raised (and sorry to those who wept watching the video - let's just say you weren't the only ones to do so... 🙂)
So thanks to Warwick, Ruth, Paul, Mike, Karen, Nick and Tom. Keep music live!
Last but not least, many thanks to Christina and Allan, especially for the socially distanced post-trundle picnic and cake but also for their continued and continuing support throughout isolation.
Why I did it:
Willen Hospice means a lot to me as I've had 4 friends supported by them and I know the fabulous work that they do. With the current Corona virus situation their fundraising efforts have been heavily curtailed so I want to take this opportunity to help.
Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers.Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the types of pain and symptoms which can arise. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers can give compassionate, specialist support to patients, and their family members, to help deal with, as they wish to, the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.
Many thanks
Grant
