Story

Tales of agony and despair from the 2015 team have not been heeded in the slightest, and this year we are entering THREE teams into the fray.

Team Primary: Chris Hirst (Sheffield), Matt Tooke (Sheffield), Lincoln Spencer (Sheffield), Jack Laverick (Sheffield)

Team SecondaryGareth Chaffey (Salisbury), Alexandra Grassam (Sheffield), Si Cleggett (Salisbury), Phoebe Olsen (Salisbury)

Team TertiaryDavid Norcott (Salisbury), Rachel Williams (Salisbury), Andy Callen (Salisbury), Will Santamaria (Kent)

Support crew: Andy Crockett, Lisa McCaig, Ivan Machin, Chris Brayne, Vi Pieterson, Jo Latham, Phil Weston, Paul Baggaley

In case you're wondering, our teams are named after archaeological fills, because yes, we're THAT cool.

We’re going to walk 100km of the South Downs Way in one continuous no-sleep push over a weekend, setting off early on Saturday 22nd July and not stopping until well into Sunday 23rd.

More details of the event (and the worthy causes itsupports) can be found here: http://www.oxfam.org.uk/trailwalker/the-challenge

Although we don’t expect to have time to do a lot of  sightseeing, along the trail are numerous sites of archaeological interest, including the Devils Jumps bell barrow group,Old Monkton deserted medieval village, Chanctonbury Ring hill fort, Bramber Castle, the Devils Dyke, Bignor Roman Villa and the Chicester to London Roman road of Stane Street, to name but a few.
