Story
On August 29th 2020 I plan to ride 20 horses for 20 minutes each inside 12 hours - this is my 4th go at doing this. I have twice said never again but here I go again...
Why? To raise money with your help for Spinal Research - having come so close to paralysis after my fall in 2011 I wanted to fund raise for them again. When I did this Challenge in 2009, 2012 and 2017 I was much younger! And now I am 63....I think I can manage the riding but anyone who has seen me getting off horses recently will know I am struggling a bit!
I raised over £1700 in 2009, £2400 in 2012 and over £3400 in 2017 when I turned 60. This time I'm aiming for £2020 to round it off - but it would be great if I raised over £3000 to take my grand total to £10k.
Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Every year 1,000 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the support of the public to raise funds for our research. Because of the efforts of our supporters, we have funded innovative medical research that has achieved a number of ground breaking changes in the field.
