On 26th March 2012, Sharon Crawford, my sister-in-law, sadly passed away aged only 55, after an 18 month battle with cancer. We always believed she would get better and the end of her life came so suddenly that we were totally unprepared for this devasting loss.

Although it was not possible to cure Sharon, she received some fantastic care especially from staff at Guys Hospital in her last days. So Holly and I decided we wanted to do something positive, in Sharon's memory and in recognition of the amazing work carried out by people like these and our chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.

We are therefore taking part in the 5K 'Race for Life' London - Blackheath on 1st July 2012 along with a team of fellow colleagues at Darrick Wood School where I work. Holly and I hope to raise a personal target of £500. We don't guarantee to be fit enought to run the whole way but will definitely make it to the finish!!

I know what we are doing is nothing exceptional but it means a great deal to us so please help us to meet our target - all donations no matter how small will be gratefully received. Thank you for your support!
