Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been inspired to do this by a) Watching the recent programme (Toughest Place to be a Midwife) and b) Remembering the great work that VSO do after we were a Host Home for a Mongolian/UK exchange in 2009.

On 15th May 2011, VSO are organising a walk in Kendal for Womens Maternal Health Worldwide and the event is called

"In Her Shoes".

In Her Shoes is a great day out for an excellent cause. It's a little different from most charity walks, because it offers the chance to exercise your creativity as well as your body by wearing the most dazzling shoes you can find.

WHY WE'RE WALKING

Almost 1,000 women die every day as a result of complications from pregnancy, 99% of them in the developing world*. Many of them have to walk for hours just to reach a hospital.

The walk in Kendal on 15th May will be 12km from Abbot Hall, up over Scouts Scar, Cunswick Scar, Kendal Golf Course and returning to town via Serpentine Woods.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you so so much
