Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
During November many people kickstart their writing with Nanowrimo - but this year I'm trying to kickstart my stalled PhD by taking part in AcWriMo - Academic Writing Month!
Essentially, I've been so busy starting out doing GTA work and then being felled for a fortnight with the cold from hell that it turned into Week 5 of the Academic Year before I knew it and I suddenly realised I hadn't done any of MY work at all!
So in November I'm committing to doing some academic work of my own (read a chapter, write a page or similar) every day. I'll blog about what I'm doing at tiintax.com so please come along and cheerlead… or arsekick, as appropriate!
At the same time I thought I'd try and raise money for the Cavendish Cancer Care charity, the people who provided counselling and support to dad when he was ill, and to me too. They provide the support that isn't essential (massage, aromatherapy, memoir writing…) but which can make a huge difference to wellbeing. It costs them £170 an hour to keep their lovely welcoming premises at Wilkinson Street open, and they have to raise £156 of that themselves, so I thought I would set myself the modest target of supporting them for an hour. Please help if you can.
