Story

Centenary Fund - 'Building the Future'

Wellingborough Prep School will be celebrating its Centenary in 2013, and Headmaster Richard Mitchell has requested that the Centenary celebrations provide the opportunity to raise the necessary contributory funds towards the further development of the present Robinson Block to improve facilities for art and design, an academic area which has received national acclaim in recent years. Funds will go towards the new glass atrium which will become the central feature for the proposed new Centenary Art Centre. This will be the Centenary’s legacy for the next chapter in the School’s history. This fund is designed to give everyone associated with the Prep School an opportunity to contribute to its future success. In addition to the fundraising events listed below, the Centenary fund also invites individual donations. The names of all donors will be displayed on an Honours Board inside the Atrium eg

A  donation of £20 will ensure the name of a single child is included on the Honours Board.

A donation of  £35 will ensure the name of a family is included on the Honours Board

A donation of £250 towards the fund will be listed as "Centenary Foundation Donors" and this select group will be prominently displayed within the Atrium and invited to  our Centenary dinner .

Events so far :-

Jubilee Womens's Walk - 16th September 2012

As 2012 is a special year for the UK with both the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee taking pace, the  school wanted to unite all the women, past and present, connected with the School, to participate in a sponsored charity walk to kick start the Centenary fundraising appeal.

On 16th September 2012, The Wellingborough School Women's Jubilee Walk took place, with a choice of two walks on offer, a 20 mile and a 12 mile walk. Some 80 women took part on the day to  raise funds towards the Art Atrium Project.

The Centenary fund opened with nearly £5000, from this event.

10% of Events Fundraising money will go towards the national Charity "Combat Stress", to aid military veterans with long term mental illness.
