Controllers, in all their many forms, are one of the main ways to explore thousands of video game worlds - the key to traversing an ever-growing collection of interactive universes that we, as players, can have some sort of impact in.
But for some, this is not possible - not through a lack of wanting, but due to physical disabilities. And that is not on! That is why we have once again joined in on the collective effort of many livestreamers to raise money for SpecialEffect, this time through GameBlast21!
SpecialEffect are a UK-based charity devoted to helping those with physical disabilities experience the joy of video games through personalised technology. By donating to this fundraiser, you will be funding the equipment and support needed to help hundreds of people who would have otherwise missed out on so many video game experiences.
Last year, I upped my livestreaming output to try and raise at least £250, and together with your support we not only hit that target, but we more than doubled it, raising £528 in total!
This year... we're doubling the double and aiming for £1,000! And to help try and raise this much, this year's campaign is also being headed up by three streaming friends - Scarfulhu, Richaado and Ebak the Cat!
We have singleplayer and multiplayer games galore on all four of our Twitch channels for all three days. Plus, we have various livestream and video promises you can earn by donating more to this page!
For every £50 raised, you'll get something randomly drawn from a list of tombola rewards from one of us, except for every £250 raised where you'll get something special from all four of us instead!
Our full livestreaming schedules and donation rewards lists can be found as the pinned (top) tweet on Twitter.com/WeirdFTW for the duration of this event - feel free to message me on Twitter or however you can reach me if you have any questions.
We've been excited to get started on this fundraising adventure ever since we put this team together a few months ago - we've set the bar reasonably high but we're confident that we can make a significant difference, and we hope you're as willing to help us level the playing field for disabled gamers.
