Story

Following on from last year's successful summit climb on Snowdon forty members of the QinetiQ Weapons Division are climbing Helvellyn on 19th September to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The team: John & Lyn Anderson, Peter Sumner, Andrew Brownlow, Andrew Ryan, Steve Davis, Dorian Thomas, Chris Wren, Steve Mercer, Chris Hitchen, Ian Gregory, Steve Stringer, Mike Cooper, Simon Christoforato, John Gavin, Lisa Dabinett, Chris Lyddon, Des Amanano, Alex Davies, Kathryn Gillis, Paul Wright, Ian Wiltshire, Tracy Vine, Mark Sydenham, John Scammell, Phil Hilton, Adrian Britton, Graeme Morrison, Jonathan Collier, Nick Everett, Chanene Romain, Adam Wallis, Jamie Moughton, Chris Waite, Matthew Fooks & Guy Tomlinson

Helvellyn is a mountain in the English Lake District, the highest point in the Eastern Fells.  At 950m above sea level, it is the third highest peak in both the Lake District and England.  The former county border between Cumberland and Westmorland lay along the Helvellyn Rdige; this meant that the summit of Helvellyn was the highest point in Westmorland.
