Story
Both teams would like to thank everybody that donated to our page and helped to raise so much for the Alzheimers Society.
Both teams successfully completed the Challenge which took over 14 hours to complete and resulted in some very sore feet. I will let Tony tell you who completed the task the quickest :-)
Thanks again everyone that donated and took part
Hi everyone,
On the 10 February my brother (Tony) and I unfortunately lost our Mum Anne Temple aged only 77 to Dementia , this was a long illness lasting over 6 years.
Although this is a sad event it was decided with the help of our friends (see team details below) that we would remember Mum by raising awareness and needed support for the Alzheimers Society.
Dementia affects over 750,000 people in the UK alone with numbers set to rise to one million by 2025. The Alzheimer's Society provides information and support for people with all forms of dementia and those who care for them. It runs quality care services, funds research, advises professionals and campaigns for improved health and social care and greater public understanding of dementia.
On the 4 May 2012 Two teams of five have set themselves a challenge to visit every Zone 1 Underground station in alphabetical order and have photos taken at each sign. Estimations suggest we will be lucky to complete this challenge within 12 hours.
My brothers team
Steve Beadle, Brad Horne, Gary Banks and Simon Webb
will start with stations beginning with A-W and
my team
Joanna Temple, Garry Daniels, Barry Baldock and Terry Coombs
will start with W-A
crossing many times at some point along the way.
Your kind donations and sponsorship will help to ensure that the Alzheimers Societys valuable work continues.
Thank s all for your support,
Tony, Wayne, Steve, Gary B, Gary D, Joanna, Brad, Terry, Barry, Simon
