I am holding this event to say thank you to Breast Cancer Now, raise awareness of the work they do, and raise money to help them keep on driving research and giving vital support.

In 2018 my world changed when my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. In March this year my girlfriend Claire was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. Watching my Mum go through chemo and radiotherapy was heart-breaking. Claire’s treatment has been extensive and traumatic so to see the two most important women in my life go through this has been tough for us all.

Claire’s chemo especially was really tough as the effects of these lifesaving drugs were brutal. Claire’s Mum and I took it in turns to look after her when she was too sick to care for herself.

Claire found the charity Breast Cancer Now who have been nothing short of incredible. The work they do in supporting and caring for patients and families has had a huge impact on us.

Claire has benefitted from a range of support from Breast Cancer Now:

• Webinars with oncologists and nurses
• Events for younger women with a breast cancer diagnosis
• Nutrition and exercise information
• Phone advice, information, and emotional support with breast care nurses
• The Breast Cancer Now app

All of this care has been free at the point of access and has made a huge difference to Claire’s life during cancer.

We want to raise as much money as possible to support this life-changing work that affects so many of us.
