Following the sad news back in October 2011 that very inspirational Harry Moseley lost his long battle with his inoperable brain tumour it was a sad time for the City of Birmingham.

Harry raised over £650,000 for his charity which he setup himself www.helpharryhelptothers.com by coming up with his own idea of customized bracelets.

A group of football fans will walk from Birmingham to East Anglian town of Norwich.

The event will be started at Villa Park on Tuesday 8th May 2012 at 8am where the 150 mile journey will depart and reach Norwich City's FC Carrow Road on Saturday 12 May 2012.

The rest points will be determined shortly but working on the average of needing to hit target of 150miles the daily distances will 30miles

Let’s make this event a great success along the way we will stop off a few local grounds and have pictures along the way; I hope to get local media in stop of towns to meet with us.

The Ultimate goal is to generate awareness of the illness and raise as much as possible for HHHO not forgetting to make the event fun along the way.

Here is a little insight to Harry’s story:

“My story began in 2007. I had problems with my eyes so after lots of visits to the opticians and the local hospital, the doctors gave me an MRI scan. They told me that I have a brain tumour which can’t be operated on as it’s in a dangerous place, deep in my brain.

I began chemotherapy, but it didn’t work and my tumour grew. My only other option was radiotherapy. That’s when I met Robert Harley, who was also having radiotherapy for a brain tumour. We had our treatment on the same day, every day for six weeks, so we became very good friends.

In 2009 Robert became very ill so I decided to make and sell beaded bracelets to raise lots and lots of money for brain tumour research to help make him better.

Sadly four weeks into my campaign, my friend Robert died. I can no longer help Robert, but I know that he was proud of me and would have supported me – he wore one of my bracelets too.

I spend lots of time working on my campaign so that we can make a difference to all people that suffer with brain tumours.”

Sadly, Harry’s health took a turn for the worst in July 2011 when he developed hydrocephalus which was caused by the growth of his brain tumour. He had an emergency operation on August 10 2011 which resulted in him remaining in a coma for over 13 weeks.

Harry also developed thrombosis of the brain and doctors advised Harry’s family to bring him home to rest on Friday 7 October. Harry passed away peacefully in his mother’s arms on Saturday 8 October at 11.10pm
