Story
This year we will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Having worked for Yorkshire Ambulance Patient Transport Service for 20 years this charity is close to my heart. It relies solely on the generosity of people and organisatons to help save lives across Yorkshire, and only receives help through the secondment of paramedics from the NHS, via Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. To keep both of the air ambulances in the air they need to raise £12,000 a day. Together we hope to make a small contribution towards this cost and support them in continuing to deliver their live saving services.
Laura and I are hoping to be dressed the part as yellow helicopters, that will draw attention to the fantastic work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and hopefully make us fly round the course! Pictures to follow! Runar will be taking the race more seriously, so no fancy dress for him (he doesn't need any extra help), but will be waiting for us at the finish line to assist in our recovery, so it will be a real team effort.
We hope that you take the time to make a donation to this fantastic cause. We would also appreciate any support on the day - April 23rd - for those of you that will be in the London area.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to get money to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity.
