Story
This is the fundraising page just for my participation in the running event created by Btr Liverpool and the Tour of Merseyside.
It is a 52 mile 6 day running event over the span of a 7 day week starting on the Sunday the 2nd July 2017 and finishing on the Saturday the 8th July 2017.
It will involve me running 13.1 miles at the Southport Half Marathon on Sunday the 2nd July, and then 6 miles multi terrain at Thurstaston beach on Monday. 10 miles in Walton along the Sustrans cycle path on Tuesday. A day off on Wednesday then 5 miles down the Promenade at Otterspool in Liverpool on Thursday. Then 6 miles cross country at Stadt Moers country park on Friday night followed by a final 12 miles along the Wirral coastal Path near New Brighton on the morning of Saturday the 8th July.
Needless to say it is a long and shattering week and one which I will have to draw a lot of strength from my happy thoughts and memories of my Mum. My knees are pretty bad overall at the moment and I will be stepping down from a lot of my running soon.
Before I step down from bigger running events I would like to complete one final Tour of Merseyside in memory of my Mum followed by hopefully one last visit to the Snowdon marathon in Oct this year. My Mums ashes are going to be spread in Wales so Snowdon as possibly my final event will be a fitting close to my efforts run wise.
I will be running the Tour of Merseyside event in memory of my Mum and this particular fundraising link and page will send donations to Lupus UK as opposed to my other fundraising challenge I am also doing throughout the year for WWMD - What would Mum do? which is raising donations for Anxiety UK by cycling/running 2617 miles in a year.
Both of my fundraisers are part of the greater fundraising campaign WWMD - What Would Mum Do? which is a legacy created to remember and honour my Mum and those of others within the campaign whether they are still with us or not.
Please visit the Facebook group/page for WWMD at the following web address : https://www.facebook.com/groups/231508044007932/
Thank you for your support and your donations xx
Les Jackson.
