Story
Hello friends and family,
I'm lucky enough to work for a company that is actively supporting the fight against Alzheimer's Disease which is something that I deeply believe in. Alzheimer's Disease affects 45million people worldwide and has a 100% mortality rate. There is currently no treatment to prevent, reverse or slow the effects of Alzheimer's and as anyone who is familiar with the effects of the disease first hand will tell you - the slow deterioration of the brain caused by Alzheimer's is deeply distressing for both the sufferer and their family and friends. Imagine forgetting your whole lifetime of memories, your family and best friends and feeling alone in a place that you don't recognise. That is what Alzheimer's can do.
As a company we are aiming to raise £12,000 ($18,000) towards this cause which will be donated directly to Alzheimer's organisations searching for treatments and providing care around the globe. To do my part I am aiming to raise at least £100 but it would be great if I could raise much more.
So what am I doing to raise money? As a company we have committed to all take part in the Exiger Cares Brainathon, this means that each and every one of us will train our brains every day for at least 5 minutes for 5 weeks. Just to give you the scale of the event - this is over 100 people spread across 5 offices on three continents all training hard. As a team we will complete over 18,000 minutes of training. And as if that wasn't enough, I also ran the Spartan Race 10 hours after getting off a 26 hour flight from Sydney, Australia!
Support this cause by donating whatever you can and also by joining my Brainathon team and doing some brain training with me and feel free to invite your friends and family too.
Thanks for your support!
