Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 21st of June this year at 7am we started our challenge.
Last year Vizrt chose to support a charity MedEquip4Kids which collects funds for medical equipment for babies and children not available on the NHS in hospitals in the north of England. So what could we do to help raise the funds?
We could attempt to walk 50 miles (80km) under 24 hours. Andre, Sean, Hue, who was standing in for Mark Ryan who pulled out due to a knee surgery, Rex and I travelled to Rochdale on the Friday before and were ready for the challenge. We had trained during the winter and the spring, so we thought we were ready.
In the end we completed the challenge as a team in 23 hours and 20 minutes. It was tiring and it was painful, but it was also exilerating and satisfying to know that we can do it.
The low: Getting lost in the middle of the night at 1:30 am in a boggy area, getting cold while trying to read the map with the light coming from our head torches.
The high: Receiving all your donations. Knowing that we could do something for a good cause and receiving your support made us feel appreciated and recognized.
I hope you will enjoy watching the short video that we made recording our little adventure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5379LIvoIos&feature=youtu.be
Please do not stop donating, this page is open until September.
We are grateful for your support.
