Story
I completed Tough Mudder, an 11 mile 25 obstacle course at Drumlanrig Castle Dumfriesshire yesterday with my team mates Gary Harvey and Stewart McKellor, and we did it in under 3 hours!
Battered, bruised but very happy and the proud owner of an orange headband!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Autism last year, although we knew for a long time before that that the diagnosis was just going to confirm our suspicions. Having a child with autism is incredibly tough, because you can never enjoy a normal family life, and the demands placed on you are immense. Imagine not being able to tell your parents when you are hungry, tired, sad or cold, and becoming frustrated when no-one understands you. Imagine how we feel as parents that we wanted to give the best and protect our daughter yet we couldn't understand what she wanted. Imagine having a child who looks normal on the outside, but will possibly never hold down a job or have a relationship. Please help us to help others by donating to Scottish Autism, and I will go through this incredibly tough challenge - Tough Mudder Scotland in return.
Billed as "possibly the toughest event on the planet" it is a 12 mile obstacle course including mud, walls, barbed wire, cold water and electric shocks. However I hope that many of you will realise that having a child with Autism is possibly the toughest daily challenge on the planet.
