Story
According to NHS Digital, 2020, one in six school-aged children has a mental health problem. This is an alarming rise from one in nine in 2017. We are acutely aware of the need to create spaces for our children to heal after the pandemic, space to be calm, space to be quiet, space to play games, space to think, space to chat.
A recent study by The University of Cambridge into the effect of nature on children’s wellbeing, reported “The wide-ranging benefits in children and adults associated with access to and engagement with nature including, lowering levels of anxiety and depression, and reducing stress”
We want to create a sensory garden on our old pool hall site. This enormous site (297m2) will be transformed into a haven for pupils and the local community but, we need your help!
See it * Smell it * Taste it * Touch it * Hear it * Sense it! *
