Story
At the beginning of this year I decided to enter the ballot for RideLondon - the cycling equivalent of the London Marathon. To my great surprise I heard back a few weeks later that I had been successful in gaining a place, so now I am busy building up my cycling mileage and stamina for sitting on a saddle for hours on end. Although I enjoyed cycling in my university days, it is not something that I have done much of since then.
FIN continues to be a charity that is close to my heart, and this year it is celebrating its 40th Anniversary. The past few years have been very challenging financially for the charity, and last year a difficult decision was made to reduce the centre opening hours and staffing by half. As the world opens up again it is so important that FIN is able to carry on meeting the needs of existing and future clients. The need for day centre provision for adults with dementia remains the same. However, taking into account factors like increased life expectancy and retirement age there is also a need to expand and diversify the services that are offered to suit the current generation of over 70's.
All money raised will be used for the FIN clients to enjoy regular and varying forms of entertainment and outings.
