Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
As you may know already, I'm attempting to ride the 112-mile Fred Whitton Challenge in the Lake District, including six of the hardest passes in the UK.
This event was created to remember Fred Whitton of the Lakes Road Cycling Club who died of cancer aged 50.
Although I didn't know Fred personally, I do know many people who have been, or are, affected by this disease and know that Macmillan nurses can, and do, make all the difference when it comes to managing life with cancer.
Yes, I am doing this ride as a personal challenge, but I also want to support the underlying cause of the event which raised £625,000 last year for Macmillan. Organised by volunteers, in fact, all the proceeds of the event go to charity,* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
