Somewhere right now, someone is getting ready to escape from a living nightmare, and she has nothing but the clothes on her back.   

Women are most at risk from being murdered when they attempt to leave an abusive relationship.  Women and kids often leave with only the clothes they are wearing.  They see an opportunity to get out and they run.  The fear of being caught trying to leave is overwhelming and the consequences can be deadly.  Staff at Glasgow Women's Aid see this happen on a regular basis.

GWA  staff support women and children with practical and emotional support.  They are a life line in the deepest of darkest times.
