Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Archie was born on 11th October 2011. He had no heartbeat for 11 minutes and as a result suffered widespead severe brain damage. This has now been diagnosed at Quadriplegia Cerabral Palsy, Infantile Spasm Epilepsy and he is registered blind. It was not thought that he would survive very long and if he did, the prognosis was very bleak.
Archie spent 15 days on NICU where he started showing me what he was made of. They said he would never feed orally, he does. They said he'd never smile. He does. He has a laugh which melts your heart. He is learning to sit. Learning to roll. Learning to take steps. Learning to verbalise.
Archie is such a fighter and I would be doing him an injustice if I didn't fight for him too. We are accessing a variety of therapies which are not currently available on the NHS and these have had huge impact on him already. I am raising money to help continue accessing these therapies and to seek out future therapies and equipment.
I have been amazed by the kindness of friends, family and strangers who have been doing some amazing things to help us. Thank you does not seem enough but it's all we have so THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I hope that one day Archie can walk up and thank you himself.
I am fundraising through Tree of Hope, they will hold the money securely and we will access it as and when Archie needs it.
