We've decided to raise money for The Ralph Bates Pancreatic Cancer Fund in memory of my Dad, who died of Pancreatic cancer on 10th October 2010. By the time he was diagnosed, there was nothing anyone could do. If it was detected just a few months earlier, the odds of me writing this would be a lot less. I'm raising money so that research can be done so the early signs of pancreatic cancer can be detected, and more lives can be saved! Cancer sucks.
The Ralph Bates Pancreatic Cancer Fund support research into Pancreatic cancer by funding projects at St George’s University of London. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) spent an estimated $96.7 million on pancreatic cancer research in 2010. This represents just 2% of the NCI’s approximate $5 billion annual cancer research budget for that year. Pancreatic cancer accounts for just 3% of all cancer cases; the research is limited and patients rarely live more than a year after diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer is a disease with a 1-year survival rate of 25% and a 5-year survival rate of just 6%. So, EVERY DONATION COUNTS! Anything you can give will make such a massive difference.
So please dig deep and donate now.
