Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have a goal to run the London Marathon before im 40 - as im 37 now I thought id better get on with it!! So I have started running again in earnest and entering a few 'fun runs' to get in some practice and also as a good way to raise money for my chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support. My training log: http://reason-2-run.blogspot.com/
Follow the link above for the official website! This is 5KM run in Coventry and as im already running this distance I thought it would be a nice way to start off the journey! It is one thing running on your own tootling along - its quite another asking for sponsorship and running in a 'race' as low key as that race may be! So rather than starting straight off with the london marathon :-0 which is probably more my style, jumping in at the deep end hahaha!!! I thought id be sensible and build up to it ;-) So on August 23rd I shall be running 5KM and later on at the end of October I will be running my first half marathon!!! **gulp**
Why Macmillan? Well sadly I have a couple of friends loose thier battle with cancer, and yet more who have or who are in the process of beating this illness. In all cases Macmillan have been a constant source of support. Without Macmillan the whole process would have been far more difficult than it already was. Macmillan relies on supporters for 99% of thier income, this is why I have chosen to raise money for this very worthwhile and essential charity.
