Story
Hello
As a supporter of Farm Africa, I've seen the impact their work has on people and our planet. Please scroll the gallery to see more photos of me with the farmers in Embu.
Thanks to a generous group of Farm Africa supporters your gift will be *doubled* by them! Vulnerable farming communities in eastern Africa are facing the effects of the climate crisis, causing widespread threats to lives and livelihoods. Many smallholder farmers are struggling to feed their families right now. Hunger is rising, with thousands of people in Ethiopia and Kenya facing acute food insecurity as harvests in the traditional 'food basket' regions fail.
Farm Africa's End Hunger Grow Farming appeal is raising funds to help farmers across eastern Africa regenerate their land, build climate-resilient businesses and grow more food. Your donation will help develop tools and resources to solve hunger and build thriving communities.Thank you *the first £150,000* donated to the appeal will be matched.
In this photo is the wonderful Juliet whom I met on my recent trip to Kenya. She had a small-holding with goats, chickens (which she hatches) and makes compost and mulch which she had put on her fields and was waiting for the rain. Some seeds were already planted, some not. The good news is that, after FOUR years of drought, it is now raining in Kenya! But it may not be enough...
I am so happy for her and the other amazing women farmers I met.
By supporting Farm Africa we can help many more women farmers in Eastern Africa like Juliet.
