Initially I was going to run just for personal challenge.  The game plan has changed now - since signing up my close friend who thought she had beaten Lymphoma (blood cancer) received the news it had returned :-(

So whilst I am running without her (she has supported me through 6 previous 10 k races) I feel compelled to do my bit.   

Meanwhile she is currently in the midst of horrendous stem cell treatment and still texted me the other day  to say she feels like a fraud cos everyone else in the chemo ward looks sooo poorly.
