Story
I've done various races before and raised money for various charities, but this time it's closer to the heart.
A friend's father was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2011, and with essential funding via this charity, vital research can be done (including at the hospital where I currently work!) into helping us understand this cancer better to be able to help others in future.
The charity Pete's Pancreas Project, as part of Newcastle hospitals NHS trust has raised lots of money, but need more. The family and their friends have worked tirelessly over the last couple of years, all year round, to put every effort into giving a little something back to help their dad and those in future who may develop this rare form of cancer. I want to do my bit to help them achieve what is so important to them.
The first challenge is the Three Peaks on 8/9 June: 3 of the UKs highest mountains in 24 hours, through gruelling conditions, tiredness and many blisters!
The second is the Total Warrior Race in the Lake District in Cumbria; 10km of treachorous obstacles and muddy water (most likely freezing!) swimming!
So please please donate, however small. It will keep me going through both the above to know that my blisters and trench foot is for a worthy cause!
Big thankyou. Vicky x
