Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Vicky and the Nutfield Running Ladies' JustGiving page.
Last year Vicky's company, Coley Porter Bell, which is part of Ogilvy Group UK, started working with the rest of the companies in the group on a five year project to build a secondary school in Buikwe, Uganda. This is an area of Uganda where children go to primary school but have no secondary school where they can complete their school education. Our aim is to build a school that will enable the children to realise their dreams, and have the choice to move beyond a life where their only option is to work in the fields. In order to make this happen we have partnered with a charity called IN UK.
As a company Ogilvy Group pledge £30,000 a year , and beyond that we send 3 groups of 10 volunteers each year, currently to build, and ultimately to help run the school. We started last June, opened our first classrooms in March and are now working on the second block.
I (Vicky) will be part of one of the groups and am going to Uganda to work on the second block on June 9th. As a volunteer going on a trip I need to raise £1000 (that goes beyond our corporate donation.) I am lucky enough to be part of the Nutfield Ladies Running Club - there are six of us, and my lovely running friends - Rebecca, Jess, Lauren, Sally and Carrie, have kindly agreed to form a team so that we can run the Ranelagh Half Marathon to raise money for this cause.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to IN UK's Many Ogilvy Hands fund and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
