Story
As I embrace turning 40 I have decided in addition to celebrating to put this old body through its paces and partake in a number of challenges and these are not going to be easy! . So far I am planning to tackle the following;
- Brighton Marathon on 10th April ✅
- Ride London (100mile bike ride) on 29th May. ✅
- 2mile swim serpentine 17th sept (day after my 40th) - update due to queens funeral this has been move to 16th sept 2023 (my 41st Birthday )
- Due to the delay I and also doing 60k cycling sportive with my cousin Charlotte Alfie’s mum and the following day Southampton 10k 1&2 April 2023✅
I am extremely privileged to be able to attempt these challenges as I know not everyone is as fortunate, little Alfie was only 5 when we sadly lost him. That’s why I would like to support Charlotte, James and Harry by using this opportunity to continue his legacy, raise awareness of the great work Alfie’s Wish is doing and hopefully raise some money to help other families.
Alfie Butler was diagnosed with a Brain tumour when he was 8 months old, after a long and brave battle sadly he died on 2nd Jan 2020 at 5 years old. His parents James & Charlotte set up Alfie's Wish as his legacy to help other children with Cancer as they know just how tough it is as a family physically, emotionally and financially. The charity supports children (0-16 yrs) with Cancer in the UK and their families by referrals from CLIC Sargent to send them on family days out to make memories together and cover help towards additional costs.
