Story
Vets in the Community is a student run enterprise that aims to provide free routine veterinary care for the pets of homeless and vulnerably housed people in Nottingham. We run clinics twice a month in central Nottingham and have run over 700 consults!
A cascade grant (provided by the University of Nottinghams Vet School, Alumni and friends) set up this scheme in 2012.
Vet students get to practice consulting (under a qualified vets supervision) and homeless or vulnerably housed people get to keep their pets healthy - its a win-win!
We can provide:
- microchipping
- vaccinations
- ear/eye treatments
- pain relief
- worming and flea treatment
- advice on many aspects of the animals health
- information about other resources available
As running this clinic is very expensive we need to keep fundraising to keep going, so please give whatever you can!
Donating isn't the only way to help us, sharing the page on social media can help us reach a much larger audience and raise awareness of the work we do.
SB Cake off has very kindly made us the charity they're supporting this year and all donations will go to a very good cause. This page is a quick, easy way to donate.
An even easier way to donate is to text HVIC48 £1 to 70070 !
Every Pet should have a Vet!
