I'm asking for donations for Northampton Theatres Trust - 'Help Bring Us Back Together Emergency Fundraising Appeal'
It's bleak out there at the moment in the theatre world. Theatres have been hit hard by Covid-19 and we need to do all we can to keep them alive.
For me personally the Royal & Derngate has been a huge part of my life, from attending the Derngate youth theatre when I was 11 years old, to playing a gig in the gorgeous Royal Theatre supporting the R&D Community Choir (so rich in history, The Royal opened in 1884!)
And of course working behind the box office for 9 years and seeing hundreds of amazing shows and being there when the Northampton Filmhouse being born.
The theatre makes almost 90% of its income through ticket sales, and the immediate and unanticipated loss of this money had caused an unprecedented challenge. They are now down to skeleton staff. I care about that place and the people that run it a huge amount. I care about the town's future and just how important this place is and what an impact it has on people's lives. Every little bit will contribute to the venue's recovery after this hard hitting time.

I am going to be playing a live fundraising stream gig on Thursday 9th July at 8.15pm to raise money for the cause. If you're in a position to help, please donate.
