After many hours of training, getting up in the  black of the early morning to battle against the elements, eating my body weight in carbs, I am finally marathon-ready. But this is no 26-mile limp around London - no, that's for wimps. This is a test of iron will and of the human spirit. This is a karaoke marathon.

On 2nd November 2009, I'm going to join a team of enthusiastic, over-excited 'Charioke-ers' to sing for 10 straight hours in aid of Refugee Action.  I wondered if you might consider sponsoring me?

Unbelievable generosity (this is arbitrary; my friend Disha will be the judge) will entitle you to select the celebrity outfit of your choice which I will wear throughout, however humiliating. But any donation, large or small will be hugely appreciated and encourage me to belt out a little Bonnie Tyler or sing the Supremes.

They work with refugees to build new lives, through providing advice and information, developing communities, enhancing opportunity, and campaigning for refugee rights. They want a society in which refugees are welcome, respected and safe, and in which they can achieve their full potential.
