Story
Following on from the success of our 2013 Valli Rally, and Managing Director Moin Valli’s European adventure as part of the Forget Me Not 500 in 2014, Valli Opticians are at it again. We are hoping to raise £3,500 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and £3,500 for The Forget-Me-Not Children's Hospice with a family friendly charity walk between four of our Huddersfield branches and finishing off with a traditional Yorkshire tea party, complete with Brass Band.
Our dear Optometrist Kamal was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and set a challenge to raise £50,000 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research by doing a marathon from his hospital bedroom whilst being treated! After bravely fighting AML for close to two months, Kamal sadly passed away on Friday 7 August 2015. He was such an inspirational character that to honour his life and legacy, a large group of his family and friends are now continuing his challenge by helping to meet the £50,000 target the he was on course to achieving.
The Valli Rally walk, which sets off from Valli Opticians, 29 Huddersfield Road, Meltham, HD9 4AF, at 9am on Saturday 19th September, is open to the public.
Entry costs £5.00 including a free T-shirt and bottled water.
