Story
As part of the graduate scheme for Vodafone, I never thought I would be able to participate in this awesome experience, but I am, and it is really exciting! - Cycling around 100 miles a day, for 9 days with the Vodafone Team in the Ride Across Britain.
This ride will aim to raise £1m for Vodafone Foundation's Instant Network Schools Programme, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Instant Networks help refugees and poor children gain improved access to education through technology. In partnership with the United Nations, a series of mobile schools will be set up with network support, development of mobile applications and tools to enable selected NGOs to run their education programmes in remote areas.
This year, up to 15,000 children and young adults aged from 7 to 20 will be provided advanced technical aids - Over the next two years, it will be extended to support an additional 40,000 children and young people in these nations.
I am very proud to be part of this 960 mile journey (by far much more than I ever expected to cycle in my entire life). It is a physical and mental challenge, yet the cause is more than worthwhile! Please keep in mind how important your help is in reaching my goal, so I can help The Foundation reach theirs.
I will keep everyone posted on the training and hard work during these upcoming 5 months. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Any support is greatly appreciated!!
