Fundraising for Disasters Emergency Committee
There are 1775 miles between the Vale of Glamorgan and Ukraine and over the next fortnight, we’re inviting staff to make their miles count.
Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing hundreds of thousands to flee. Homes have been destroyed or are unsafe to live in. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost. DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month£50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.
Our goal is to raise money for those affected by the war. Miles For Ukraine will work toward a grand total of 1775 miles covered - be it through walking, cycling or swimming.
Whether you host a walking meeting, a team wellbeing walk or a weekend cycle session - it all counts. We have set up a Staffnet page for you to share your miles completed and you can also post on social media using the hashtag #MilesForUkraine.
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
