Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, my dear husband, Alan Frederick Poole, died in 1995 at the age of 54, after 26 years of marriage. I still miss him desperately. At the time, I had fantastic support from everyone I knew and this helped me get through the saddest time of my life. I joined Cruse Bereavement Care (as a Bereavement Volunteer) in 2003, as it is the largest charity in the UK to support bereaved adults and children. I deeply appreciate how it felt to be bereaved and how important support is at a sad and difficult time.
Despite being well-known, the charity struggles financially and has to fight for every penny to continue its work. I'm currently Chair of Lambeth Branch, Cruse Bereavement Care and in the past year, the Bereavement Volunteers have supported over 140 clients, through bereavement support sessions. In 2017, we are planning to set up a service for children & young people in the borough. We need more funds to do this. Please do give whatever you can.
