Story
In another moment of madness I have signed up to run all 26.2 miles of the Belfast City Marathon on 5th May 2019. I figured I didn't have enough on with working full time, being a dedicated wife and a busy mum to three lively boys... so I decided to try to find another ten hours in the week to commit to a punishing marathon training schedule.
But it is all for an a fabulous cause. Each one of us has in some way been affected by mental health issues, whether directly or indirectly. The journey of life is filled with ups and downs, which is what shapes us into the people we are. When you’re having a bad day or a good day, remember that people do care about you, you are here for a reason, and the world would not be the same without you.
It's OK not to be OK.
62% of students actively worry about their mental health, but less than 40% know where they can seek help and support or how they could help themselves or others. Mind your Mood is a student led initiative which addresses the ever growing need for mental health support for students. It helps support students at a ground level, through a range of sessions and interventions to try and help students at an early stage and raise awareness of mental illness. Every penny donated will be used towards helping students in this way, thank you.
