Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are attempting the biggest physical challenge of our lives by trekking the highest mountain in the Southern and Western hemispheres. At 6,962m (22,841ft), Aconcagua in Argentina is the second highest of the 'Seven Summits', after Everest.
To spur us on, we would like to raise some money for Meningitis Now, as our son Finn had meningitis when he was just 9 months old and we would like to help raise awareness of and support research of this terrible disease.
We were lucky; Finn had a tough battle, but appears to have fought his way through without any lasting effects. He is a keen hiker already, but despite having his own walking boots he'll have to sit this one out! We are very aware that not everybody who contracts meningitis has such a good outcome. Even with Finn's lucky escape, his family and friends have been affected in some way or other and we would all do anything we could to try and prevent anyone else from suffering this horrible illness.
