We raise funds to provide humanitarian aid in Ukraine

Story

London-based classical musicians come together for a fundraising classical music concert for Ukraine. 

The programme features music by Schumann, Chopin, List, Bartok and Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk, compositions will be performed both in solo and in chamber ensembles. 

The concert will be held on 24th of November at Razumovsky Academy: Recital Hall, London.


All money raised will provide:
- Orthofix systems for civil Ukrainians, who were injured because of the war
- an Ex-NHS ambulance, loaded with disposable medical supplies eg. bandages, dressings, sanitizers etc. and shipping it over to a hospital in Ukraine.

Performers:

Luka Okros (piano)

London-based Georgian concert pianist, Luka has established himself as one of the most outstanding pianists of his generation. The Guardian's Observer has praised his performance as "An impressive display of virtuosic pianism". He has performed in many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Het Concertgebouw, Southbank Centre, Konzerthaus Berlin, Wigmore Hall, Harpa, Liszt Academy, Musiikkitalo, Oslo Konserthus, Palau de la Musica Valencia, Vienna Konzerthaus. Highlights of the 2022/2023 season include recitals in Finland, France, Iceland, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Since 2021 Luka has been appointed as the Assistant Artistic Director at Bechstein Hall.

Sasha Grynyuk  (piano)

Born in Kyiv, Sasha studied at the National Music Academy of Ukraine and later at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Ronan O’Hora. Winner of over ten International competitions, prizes and awards, Sasha was chosen as a ‘Rising Star’ for BBC Music Magazine and International Piano Magazine. Sasha has performed around the world in many major venues including Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall (London), Bridgewater Hall (Manchester), Wiener Konzerthaus, Weil Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall, New York), Teatro Real (Rio de Janeiro) and Salle Cortot (Paris). He has performed with such orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic, Orchestra Sinfonica Brasiliera and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.

Maya Irgalina (piano)

London-based, Maya is a Belarusian pianist of Tatar origin. Maya studied at the at the Belarusian Academy of Music and later at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.Her musical interests include jazz and contemporary classics. As a guest pianist, she has played with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and Belarusian Opera House Orchestra to name just a few. She was featured in Semyon Bychkov’s Beloved Friend project about Tchaikovsky with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Maya has performed internationally with the UK highlights including performances at Wigmore Hall, Barbican, Machynlleth Festival, Oscar Wilde Weekend, Rye Arts Festival, and Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Oleg Kogan (cello)

The founder of the Razumovsky Academy.London-based Ukrainian violoncellist, Oleg was born in Kharkiv. He has performed with orchestras including the State Symphony Orchestra of the USSR, Latvian State Symphony Orchestra, Geneva Chamber Orchestra and London Soloist Chamber Orchestra and has given numerous recitals in France, Germany, Holland, Israel, Switzerland and the UK. In 1998 he became founder and artistic director of the Razumovsky Ensemble, a group of dynamic soloists and section leaders from world-class orchestras. Oleg Kogan has appeared as Guest Principal with several British orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra.  Since 1996 he has been teaching at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and gives regular master classes Poland, Switzerland and Israel.

Vira Symchych (violin)

Born in Ivano-Frankivsk, Vira is a Ukrainian violinist. After graduation from Musical College of Ivano-Frankivsk Vira entered the National Music Academy of Ukraine where she continued her study with professor B. Kotorovich, then Vira continued her study in Ecole normale de Paris Alfred Cortot with Professor Antoine Goulard. Since 2013 she participates in numerous concerts in Ukraine with solo and chamber music repertoire in Poland, Germany, France, USA, Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain. She left Ukraine after the full Russian invasion of the country.
